Whoever Pulls the Karma Strings

As we get closer to Santa's big day, let's keep in mind those who struggle every day. In our world right now, there is someone we are routing for big time!
Minky drummer Jon Sands has suffered a massive heart attack and has been in the ICU for the past month. Doctors say he is doing better every day, but still cannot have any visitors.
Please spread your good wishes at "Team Huggy" where funds are also being raised to defray the ongoing cost of John's hefty medical expenses.
Aimee Mann will also be performing a benefit concert for John, at The Paradise in Boston on January 21st. Tickets are on sale "here"
The frosting makes it sweeter
September 25, 2010
Just putting the finishing touches on this new record to make it worth the wait! We're finishing one last song featuring Cameron Stone (Brian Wilson, etc.) on cello. Also preparing to perform some of the new songs live in a few weeks. If you're in the RI area, come down and check out what seems to be a semi-rare appearance these days. A Boston area CD release show for the yet to be titled record #3 is coming in November 2010 - so keep in touch, won't you?
Sweet pleasures and sour grapes
September 3, 2010
Wow, it's been a while...but that doesn't mean the Minky camp hasn't been running in circles. After a year on the road (to nowhere) supporting the last record (which Absolute Powerpop listed as one of the top albums of the year!), the stars are falling into place. Finally free of all commitment and the drag of straight hips, Minky has teamed with producer Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Elton John) at Bopnique Musique to record a bona-fide hit record only free spirited popsters could dream of. The newest line-up features John Sands (Aimee Mann), Richard Gates, and Phil Aiken helping to bring 10 new tracks out of my head and into yours. Other guests musicians include Tracy Bonham (vocals/violin), Ajax, Steve Sadler (mandolin, dobro), Cameron Stone (cello) Eric French (guitar), Dave Tessier (guitar/keys) & Michelle Lewis (vocals). The official release date will be in November. For now, you can find "Bottle with the Blues" on our Facebook page. Listen loud and in headphones!

A big thanks to all of you who helped to sell out our Boston CD release at the Lizard Lounge last month. We will be in RI at The Blackstone in Pawtucket on April 3rd to welcome you to our new sights and sounds. This will be a great night!
